Giving Back: The Heartbeat of First Utah Bank

At First Utah Bank, we like to say that our heartbeat is firmly nestled in the communities we serve. Our commitment extends far beyond the walls of our branches and the convenience of our digital platforms. In 2023, we were fortunate to extend our hand of support, donating a sum of $812,853 to various charitable organizations within our community. We view this not as an expenditure, but as an investment in the place we call home, with returns measured in smiles, in hope, and in the vibrancy of a community moving forward together.

Charitable giving is vital because it bridges the gap between resources and needs. In a perfect world, everyone would have access to the resources they need for a good life. Unfortunately, our world is far from perfect. Yet through charitable giving, we can bring this ideal world a step closer to reality. We can provide hope, comfort, and opportunities where they are needed most.

This year, we had the honor to support several organizations that are doing fantastic work within our community. We wanted to highlight a few:

The Salt Lake City Food Bank has been tireless in its fight against hunger, a basic necessity that no person should ever be without. Our contribution aids their mission of providing nutritious meals to those who need them most.

The Utah Education Foundation is championing the future leaders of our city by ensuring access to quality education. We’re proud to stand beside them in their work toward equity in our classrooms.

The Salt Lake City Habitat for Humanity tirelessly works to provide affordable housing to our neighbors. We salute their mission and are humbled to contribute to building a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

The Utah Wildlife Federation, a beacon of hope for our natural world, tirelessly preserves the stunning landscapes that make our state so unique. We believe that investing in nature is investing in our future.

Lastly, the Salt Lake City Children’s Hospital is an organization that provides critical care for our youngest community members. Their work gives us hope and embodies our shared commitment to care for one another.

Our involvement with these organizations is much more than just monetary; it is a promise to stand by our community members and contribute to the betterment of Salt Lake City. It’s about being a good neighbor and recognizing that we’re all part of something much larger than ourselves.
