At First Utah Bank, we hold a firm belief in the transformative power of giving back. As Utah’s premier community bank, we understand that our role extends beyond financial transactions – it’s about actively contributing to the welfare and success of our communities. We’ve always said, our community’s success is our success, and we have always put our money where our mouth is.
Through our philanthropic efforts, we’ve had the privilege of supporting several programs that are making a difference right here in our home state. Let’s have a look at a couple of the exceptional organizations we’ve partnered with recently.
First, let me introduce you to Women of the World. They are doing critical work supporting displaced women, who have found themselves here in Utah due to circumstances beyond their control. Women of the World offers an array of post-resettlement services including English classes, career and educational development, mentorships, citizenship preparation, case management and advocacy. We, at First Utah Bank, are proud to support their noble mission with a donation of $36,127. We believe this will have a transformative effect on these brave women’s lives, equipping them with essential skills and opportunities to fully integrate into their new community.
Now, let’s turn our attention to a cause that’s close to our hearts – feeding Utah’s children. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed, and that starts with a healthy meal. We’ve partnered with the USANA Foundation’s Kids Eat Program through our Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program. The USANA Kids Eat initiative is dedicated to eradicating hunger among Utah’s children. The initiative targets schools within our CRA assessment area, like Taylorsville Elementary, where a staggering 77% of the students are on the free or reduced lunch program, with 56% of these kids also being food insufficient at home.
Through our $36,127 donation to the USANA Taylorsville Elementary program, we’re not just providing meals. We’re offering hope, fueling dreams, and most importantly, we’re showing these children that their community cares for them. It’s about giving relief to struggling families and helping children focus on their education and future, rather than worrying about their next meal.
Giving back is more than a social responsibility for us – it’s a part of who we are at First Utah Bank. It’s in the DNA of our bank, built into our mission, and a guiding principle for all we do. We believe it’s not enough to thrive as a bank unless we are actively contributing to the well-being of our communities. The transformative power of giving back is seen in the resilience of the women helped by Women of the World, and the spark in the eyes of children nourished by the USANA Kids Eat program.
As we continue this journey, we want to express our gratitude to you, our customers, and community members, for being a part of this. Your trust and support fuel us to keep making a difference. And remember, when you choose to bank with us, you’re choosing to invest in your community.
At First Utah Bank, we’re not just here for you. We’re here for Utah. And together, we’ll keep working to make our community a better place, one act of giving at a time. Community banks, like First Utah Bank, offer a host of benefits that set them apart from their larger, national counterparts. At a community bank, decisions are made locally by people who live in the community, understand the local economy, and are invested in the region’s success. This intimate knowledge allows them to customize financial solutions to fit individual needs.
